Dawn breaks over Pembroke Castle

The Castle was founded over 900 years ago when the Normans

invaded

Now a famous tourist attraction, the castle is also a venue for local events

Parades and Festival Events

And echoes of our Mediaeval past with Banquets ...

Mummers Plays ...

and workshops in the ancient art of stone carving

Once  a great port, the sight of boats is now rare on Castle Pond -but during the Sea Haven Festival boats sailed up the Pembroke River to the South Quay

Further up the river the Middle Mill Pond is now a Local Nature Reserve with abundant wildlife

Especially swans!

You can join in one of our Pond Dipping sessions to find what else lives here!

Further up the river again lies the Upper Millpond, a nature reserve managed by the West Wales Naturalist Trust ...

and the Holyland Wood where you can walk along the newly constructed boardwalk

and stroll through the woods.
